Napheesa Collier, #24 of the Minnesota Lynx, made a game-winning basket during the 2024 WNBA Finals Game 1 against the New York Liberty at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on Oct. 10, 2024.

Unrivaled, a new pro women’s basketball league co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, secured an exclusive multiyear media rights deal with TNT, truTV, and streaming platform Max. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The league will offer athletes an alternative to playing overseas during the offseason and provide equity to players, along with contract opportunities offering the highest average salary in women’s pro sports league history.

Starting Jan. 17, more than 45 primetime regular season matchups will air across TNT Sports platforms each season. Games will be featured on TNT on Mondays and Fridays, with additional broadcasts on truTV on Saturdays. Unrivaled highlights will be available on various TNT platforms such as Bleacher Report and House of Highlights.

Unrivaled’s games will exclusively air on TNT Sports, emphasizing consistency for fans and storytelling outside of the games. The heightened interest in the WNBA led to a recent media rights deal valued at $2.2 billion for 11 seasons.

The deal with Unrivaled gives Turner Sports the opportunity to continue featuring basketball on its network if it’s unsuccessful in its lawsuit against the NBA over media rights.

Unrivaled and TNT Sports will team up with Mediapro North America for audio and TV production. The league has attracted a lineup of investors, including media executives and athletes like former NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony.

TNT Sports has expanded its sports coverage by adding college football playoff games and The French Open to its roster, alongside Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League.
