The positive news also lifted shares of chip giants Nvidia and Micron. Nvidia, a major supplier to Taiwan Semiconductor, saw a nearly 3% increase in its stock price, hitting a record high. On the other hand, Elevance Health dropped 12% due to lower-than-expected earnings, citing challenges in the Medicaid business. Travelers’ stock jumped 7.6% after posting better-than-expected earnings, while Lucid Group tumbled 15% following a public stock offering announcement. Blackstone rallied nearly 7% after reporting strong financial results. Steel Dynamics also saw a nearly 5% increase in its stock price after beating earnings and revenue expectations for the third quarter. On the flip side, shares of Walgreens Boots Alliance dropped about 5% after announcing plans to close about 1,200 stores over the next three years.
