Oil and gas services provider Patterson-UTI Energy climbed more than 7% after a successful August. Alibaba’s U.S.-traded shares rose more than 2% after being added to stock connect programs. Johnson Controls International saw a nearly 2% increase after a stock upgrade. Anheuser-Busch InBev SA added 1.7% after being named a top pick among global brewers. Lastly, Equity Residential rose 1.3% following an upgrade to overweight status.
