Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has decided to cancel his upcoming trips to the COP16 summit in Colombia and the COP29 summit in Azerbaijan due to medical advice. This decision comes after Lula suffered a head injury over the weekend, resulting in a small brain hemorrhage. Recent medical exams have shown that he is in stable condition, but it has been recommended that he refrain from participating in these international events.

In addition to these cancellations, Lula had already called off a trip to Russia for a summit of the BRICS group. Despite this, he has been cleared to continue his duties in Brasilia and will undergo further tests within the next five days. The leftist leader was set to travel to Colombia on Monday, but will now remain in Brazil for medical monitoring.
