OpenAI and Italy’s state lender CDP have announced a collaboration to promote the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) among Italian startups and innovative companies. According to a joint statement, OpenAI, known for its ChatGPT technology, will invest in AI-focused startups through CDP’s venture capital arm, providing access to advanced technologies and funding opportunities from U.S. venture capitalists.
CDP Venture Capital has committed to investing 1 billion euros over the next five years in AI and cybersecurity initiatives. The partnership between OpenAI and CDP follows a recent meeting between Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman during the UN General Assembly in New York.
